The theme of CUI 2026 is:
Conversational AI: Agency and Identities!

We are excited to welcome ACM CUI (pronounced “coo-ee”) to Bremen, Germany, in 2026 from 21st–24th July.

CUI was established in 2018 with the goal of bringing together researchers and professionals from various disciplines who focus on the design and study of speech and language technologies. In late 2022, CUI officially became a part of SIGCHI, the Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction within the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).

The Hanseatic city of Bremen has a long history as a centre for trade, innovation, and cultural exchange. But Bremen is also a modern, forward-thinking city—home to various research institutions as well as a thriving tech scene.
