Video submissions provide important insights into CUIs but can have accessibility problems when not generated correctly.\u00a0 <strong>We are asking all authors to make an effort to make their submissions more accessible at every point in the submission process. <\/strong>Final video submissions will need to be captioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you prepare your video, please follow these steps from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sigaccess.org\/welcome-to-sigaccess\/resources\/accessible-presentation-guide\/\">SIGACCESS guide for accessible presentations<\/a>.&nbsp; As a rule of thumb, the goal is to have all key information in your video available through both the visual and audio channel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Provide both audio narration and text captions. <\/strong>The visual and audio information should be individually complete and equivalent, so that someone with a visual or a hearing impairment can understand your video.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the audio narration, <strong>r<\/strong><strong>ead all text and <\/strong><strong>describe all graphics, images, animations, and the visual elements of video clips<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Text captions can be included directly in the video as subtitles (as either closed or open captions) or uploaded as a separate closed-captioning metadata file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep any written text brief <\/strong>(other than the captions, which should accurately reflect speech).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use a high contrast color scheme and large sans serif fonts<\/strong> for any slides, text or graphics.<strong> <\/strong>&nbsp;Ensure that any open captions (captions that appear at all times, as is sometimes done for participant speech in a noisy recording) or labels on videos are on a solid background with high contrast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use different shapes and patterns<\/strong> to provide a means other than color to visually distinguish elements in any graphics or animations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Speak clearly and not too quickly<\/strong>, avoiding slang and colloquialisms.
